Born Deborah Lyde, Mrs. Francis Brinley (1698–1761) was the daughter of Edward and Catherine Lyde and the granddaughter of Judge Nathaniel Byfield. When she married Francis Brinley in 1718, she was a woman of wealth and social prominence. An entry in Smibert's notebook dated May 1729 identifies the infant as the Brinley's son Francis (1729–1816). Mrs. Brinley holds a sprig of orange blossoms, a gesture which may have been taken from an eighteenth-century print by Sir Peter Lely. The white orange blossom symbolizes both marriage and purity, while the fruit, a sign of fertility, emphasizes Mrs. Brinley's role as a mother. Orange trees, although fashionable in Europe, were expensive rarities in the colonies. The presence of one here reinforces the sitter's wealth.

the thing about luke is he wanted to be good ☝️ he wanted to be gentle and kind ☝️those weren’t innate qualities he had no matter what. when luke acted on his first instinct he was quick-tempered and stubborn. he was whiny and immature and impulsive and had a lot of anger in him. he grew up in the galaxy’s darkest hour under two blazing suns & witnessed untold violence. nothing about his life was easy or coddling or guaranteed to make him kind. but he wanted to be good and kind and gentle ☝️so when it came down to it and he needed to make impossible choices he chose love & goodness & forgiveness. ok. it wasn’t easy he wanted to die and he nearly fell to the dark side so so many times but he chose good ☝️like i can’t read another post/meta/fic that takes positivity & gentleness as his basic traits nothing else to it. we saw him struggle to chose those for three movies!!

Delhi: Four arrested for kidnapping infant boy

During interrogation, it was revealed that Reema, who is a widow and mother of three daughters was longing for a son and had contacted her real sister Seema for it.

NEW DELHI: Four persons, including three women, were arrested for allegedly kidnapping a 4-month-old boy as one of them had a desire of having a son, an official said on Sunday. The incident took place on February 6 when a 22-year-old woman reported that her infant son has been kidnapped by a man in his mid-twenties from Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar Hospital in Rohini.

The police registered an FIR under section 365 (kidnapping) of the IPC. A DCP(Rohini) Rajneesh Garg said a special team was formed to locate the child and the suspect was identified through CCTV footage.

The cops traced the man to a woman whom he had called on the phone. The woman was identified through digital tracing and was arrested. During interrogation, it was revealed that Reema, who is a widow and mother of three daughters was longing for a son and had contacted her real sister Seema for it. The baby was rescued and is safe.

Tim has no idea whether to laugh or cry. Bruce sends him away from Gotham to stay safe from Red Hood, yet who is standing there, in the Titan Tower, but the man himself. And if he was attacking or something then fine, he could deal with it. But no, the man is standing there, in the kitchen, cooking like it’s an everyday thing. Like sure he’s cooking angrily and Tim swears he can see some sort of eye glow in the helmet, but it’s not like he’s actually threatening any of them?? The literal crime lord has been hissing about them not having any food and being out of medical supplies and who decided to leave a bunch of teens alone to take care of themselves. Which. Rude, he’s been taking care of himself for years, and both Raven and Beast Boy have too! What type of scheme is this?!

Jason was going to go through with his attack on the Tower, he really was. But seriously, they didn’t even have any medical supplies, their cupboards were practically empty of food, and they didn’t even have any cleaning supplies. For fuck’s sake he’d gotten in so easily and it was a giant tower shaped like a T- everyone knew where it was! Honestly it’s not his fault the pit rage went from being pissed to the literal child- which uh, huh he’ll have to freak out about that later- to raging about how he took better care of the alley kids than the heroes were taking care of their kids so guess whose going to have to fucking step up!

Tackled it partially here, but I love the idea of Draxum knowing little extra details about the boys from before they were mutated. Things like “you liked strawberries”, “you were four times faster than others of your species”, “you tried to eat Huginn and Muninn”, “you were way too sentient for a regular turtle it was actually kind of freaky in retrospect did the proximity to Empyrean have something to do with it-“

Little details that pop up over the years, and while sometimes the boys (mainly Mikey) will ask for more information out of curiosity, most of the time the info just sort of comes out randomly. It’s not like Draxum had them all too long, but he still finds himself remembering their pre mutated turtle selves vividly, even after all these years.

The boys ask Splinter if he too has baby stories of them to share and he’s just like “I love you boys but you were hellions.”
